One of my favorite trees.

This white oak is an awesome tree. It takes three people with arms outstretched to reach around it at the base. About 20 feet off the ground it splits into four trunks, each of which is comparable to a good sized tree.

This is what the tree looks like when first leafing out. You can see the lighter shade of green in the white oak than the other trees around. It waits and lets everyone else go first.

Here you can see my climbing rope as I look up from about thirty feet off the ground  where the four trunks have separated apart.

Now I am higher, looking up in the middle of the four trunks.

A self-portrait of sorts.
